We started the day with another four hours on the road, arriving in Little Rock, the Capitol of Arkansas. Rain was threatening most of the day but we had a four hour window to do some exploring and keep dry.

Our first stop was the Old Mill, just outside Little Rock, which is a re-creation of an 1880’s water-powered grist mill that is actually featured in the opening scenes of “Gone With The Wind.” This was just a quick stop for us, but worth the visit in the spring, as the flowers really enhance the beauty of the area.

We took a quick drive through Little Rock to check out the capitol briefly before continuing on. We wanted to get as much done as possible before it began raining.

Our last stop for the day was Petit Jean State Park, which is Arkansas’s first state park and considered one of the nicest ones.
